The Long Descent has no accounts and no logins, and your save lives on your device. We do not track you across apps, and we never see your identity. Two optional features can send limited data — rewarded ads and anonymous analytics — and both are described below. Nothing is required to play, and nothing is ever sold.
Your progress is stored locally on your device (browser local storage / app storage). It never leaves your device. Deleting the app or using the in-game "Reset all progress" removes it.
The only ads in the game are optional and rewarded: you choose to watch a short video in exchange for an in-game boost. Ads are never forced and never interrupt play. They are served by Google AdMob and are non-personalized — we do not use the device advertising identifier (IDFA), we do not show an App Tracking Transparency prompt, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. To display a non-personalized ad, AdMob receives limited technical and contextual information: a device identifier (used to limit how often you see the same ad and to detect fraudulent clicks — not to profile you), device type, coarse region, which ads were shown and whether they were watched, and basic performance and crash diagnostics from the ad SDK itself. None of it is used to build an advertising profile of you. See Google's privacy policy for how AdMob handles that data. Buying "Remove Ads" turns every ad button into a free one-tap reward.
Anonymous play analytics are strictly opt-in. If you turn them on, the game sends anonymous gameplay events (for example, which zones and features get used) to GameAnalytics, tied to a random identifier — never your name, email, or a device identifier. This is used only to understand how the game is played so it can be improved; it is never sold or used for advertising. You can turn analytics off at any time in Settings → Anonymous analytics.
In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple's App Store. We receive no payment details. Purchase receipts are validated by the store platform (via RevenueCat's processing infrastructure) solely to deliver what you bought; see their respective privacy policies for how they handle transaction data.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The optional analytics are anonymous, and ads are non-personalized.
